Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Pontyclun Postie to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour week with a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work a rotating shift, including some Sundays, and handle a full manual UK driving licence with the aim of passing a driving assessment.

The role involves outdoor duties, meeting customers, and following a structured route with opportunities for overtime. Training and a uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence; max 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive Royal Mail van and pass driving assessment.
• Physically fit; able to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated with good organisation and resilience.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers in your route.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
