Job summary

The Hire seeks a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations, partnering with senior leadership to support growth and recent acquisitions.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting/finance, solid GAAP knowledge, and a track record of building processes, improving controls and mentoring staff. This hybrid role is primarily in-office with potential for one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including close, reporting and core accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring accounting staff.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills; experience with ERP systems and process improvement.
• Experience in a growing, acquisition-oriented environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable requirements.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and provide variance analysis and business insight to leadership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and scenario planning.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, reconciliations and related accounting activities.
• Evaluate and improve accounting policies, procedures, workflows and reporting processes.
• Drive automation, system improvements and integration work to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate annual audit, tax compliance and relationships with external financial partners.
• Support financial integration and due diligence needs related to future acquisitions.
• Manage, mentor and develop the accounting team and ensure accountability.
• Work cross-functionally with department leaders to understand business needs and improve decision-making.
• Serve as a key finance partner to leadership on strategic initiatives.
