Job summary

Blusource seeks an Accounts Technician for a long-established accountancy firm in Leighton Buzzard. Salary negotiable based on experience, with full study support for professional qualifications. The role covers bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns across a varied client portfolio.

The candidate will handle year-end accounts preparation, VAT, and Tax compliance, liaise with clients, and support partners. Training and career progression are provided in a friendly firm environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in producing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Experience with corporation tax computations and company tax returns.
• Proficiency in Self-Assessment tax returns and VAT obligations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for various client structures.
• Compute corporation tax and prepare company tax returns.
• Prepare Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals.
• Provide support to Client Managers and senior staff.
• Prepare P11D's when required.
• Manage client portfolio and liaise with authorities.
• Bookkeep and prepare VAT returns.
• Assist with Making Tax Digital compliance.

We are actively recruiting for a job opportunity for an Accounts Technician with a long-standing accountancy firm in Leighton Buzzard. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason.

They want someone who can take a job from start to finish, bookkeeping, accounts, tax returns etc -their current staff will largely budget a job, prepare it, liaise with clients and finalise for partner review.

The office is commutable from locations such as Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Aylesbury, and Buckingham.

Accounts Technician:

This will be a hands-on position where you will be responsible for working on a varied client portfolio across statutory accounts, management accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT and Making Tax Digital. You will have increasing responsibility and the opportunity to progress within your career and develop technically in this broad position. Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Year-end Accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
• Corporation Tax computations and Company Tax returns.
• Preparation of Self-Assessment Tax returns.
• Provide support to Client Managers.
• Preparation of P11D's.
• Deal with portfolio of clients and relevant authorities, resolving any queries.
• Bookkeeping and preparation of VAT returns.
• Assist with Making Tax Digital.

Candidates Attributes:

• Strong experience with QuickBooks/Xero or similar cloud software packages. Any experience of sage is useful.
