Job summary

Ellacotts Accountants in Kettering is seeking an experienced accounts professional to join the Corporate Team. You will prepare statutory and management accounts, handle tax computations, and liaise with clients to gather information while meeting deadlines.

With at least 2 years in practice and experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, you will help ensure compliance and contribute to the development of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare client accounts (statutory and unincorporated).

• Monitor chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery.
• Assist accounts team and department managers as required.

Job description

• Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom

Purpose of the Role

To provide a high quality service to clients in the Corporate Team and to contribute to the overall development of the practice

Responsibilities

• Prepare client accounts (statutory and unincorporated), tax returns (Corporation tax and partnership business tax computations) to meet deadlines
• Identifies points for manager or partner to raise with clients and to raise potential for additional services
• Finalises paperwork for dispatch to client or HMRC
• Liaise with client to obtain relevant information for their accounts , acting in a proactive manner and ensuring attention to detail and effective questioning of client
• Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets
• Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery
• Attend courses that are appropriate to job role
• Assist clients with ad hoc book-keeping queries and other business related matters as required.
• Assist the Department Manager(s) as part of the accounts team, as required

Critical Skills Required

• Ability to prepare incorporated and unincorporated accounts quickly and efficiently and related tax returns
• Excellent problem solving skills
