Accountant & Tax Manager - West Malling, Kent

TPF Recruitment, Kent’s leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is representing an excellent firm of accountants based in West Malling, Kent. They are seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team.

Our client is a well-established practice servicing a diverse range of clients across Kent, Sussex, London, and the South-East. Their client portfolio includes startups and large groups, offering services from bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, to tax, accounts, and advisory services.

The successful candidate will report to the Partner and handle a variety of accounts, tax, bookkeeping, and VAT tasks. You will also mentor junior team members through reviewing their work and supporting their development. There are promising progression opportunities, including a clear pathway to a Director role.

Responsibilities

1. Reviewing and preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, Ltd companies, and LLPs.
2. Preparing management accounts and assisting the Partner in presenting them to non-financial stakeholders.
3. Reviewing and preparing corporate and personal tax returns.
4. Handling complex matters related to CIS and VAT.
5. Supporting the Partners with ad-hoc projects and basic tax planning.

Requirements

• ACCA or ACA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Experience with Xero, Sage, and/or QuickBooks is advantageous.
• At least 5+ years of experience in an accountancy practice.
• Located in Kent or within a commutable distance from Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Medway, Rochester, or Chatham.
• Valid driving license is required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary between £45,000 - £55,000, negotiable based on experience.
• Competitive holiday and pension allowances.
• 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 4:45 pm.
