Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. in Barnstaple is recruiting an Accounts Supervisor to join its established accountancy practice. You will manage a varied client portfolio and act as the day-to-day point of contact for all accounting needs.

You will review junior staff work, mentor colleagues, and help prepare accounts for complex clients, with Partner sign-off. A client-focused approach and strong communication are essential to contribute to a supportive, growing team.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy environment and managing client relationships.
• ACA or ACCA qualifications advantageous, or demonstrable strong technical knowledge.
• Able to review accounts and support junior team members; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of clients and be the main contact for day-to-day accounting.
• Build strong client relationships and respond proactively to queries.
• Review accounts prep by junior staff and guide where needed.
• Prepare accounts for complex clients and review before Partner sign-off.
• Assist in information preparation for client meetings and reviews.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues, provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain high service standards and support growth.
