Job summary

EQ Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, Kelso, is seeking an Accounts Senior to operate at controller level. You will own technical delivery, guide junior team members and support clients with confidence, acting as a key contact while ensuring high-quality work across accounts and tax.

You'll review and coach junior colleagues, contribute to advisory projects and help build trusted client relationships, delivering an exceptional service in a busy practice environment.

Qualifications

• Fully or partly qualified with ACCA, ICAS or an equivalent credential.
• Solid technical grounding across accounts, tax, and audit.
• Experience using accounting and tax software to prepare client work.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong and lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs and becoming a trusted advisor
• Manage a client portfolio, ensuring accurate and up to date records
• Plan and manage tax engagements, providing strategic advice and review junior colleagues work
• Oversee the preparation and review of client accounts, support client decision-making and contribute to advisory work as needed
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring quality and fostering growth through sound knowledge sharing and hands-on support
• Manage your workload and deadlines effectively while ensuring deliver of an exceptional service
