Job summary

Clark Wood are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their independent firm on the outskirts of Wakefield. You will manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients across multiple industries, overseeing statutory and management accounts, tax compliance, VAT and bookkeeping reviews.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or by experience, with prior practice experience and proficiency in cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and general compliance work (from practice).
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparation of management accounts.
• Corporate and personal tax compliance work.
• VAT returns and bookkeeping review.
• Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact.
• Assisting junior staff members and reviewing work where appropriate.
• Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc projects and client queries.

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Clark Wood are currently working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants on the outskirts of Wakefield who are looking to add an experienced Accounts Senior to their growing team. • Preparation of management accounts
• Corporate and personal tax compliance work
• VAT returns and bookkeeping review
