Job summary

Clark Wood is assisting a well-established accountancy firm in St Asaph to recruit an Accounts Senior to join their growing team.

You will handle a varied accounts role, preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients and reviewing VAT, tax, and client queries. You will mentor junior staff and liaise directly with clients to resolve accounting issues.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified or QBE.
• Strong technical accounts knowledge and CPD.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• CCH experience advantageous; training provided.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities per FRS 102 and standards.
• Prepare personal and corporation tax returns.
• Review VAT returns and support client queries.
• Review junior team work and ensure files are ready for Partner review.
• Support, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Communicate with clients and respond to accounting queries.

The Role

You will undertake a varied accounts role, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities in accordance with FRS 102 and other relevant accounting standards
• Preparing personal and corporation tax returns
• Reviewing VAT returns and supporting clients with queries
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and ensuring files are ready for Partner review
• Supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of the team
• Communicating directly with clients and responding to accounting and technical queries

About You

• ACA / ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified or QBE
• Strong technical accounts knowledge and up-to-date CPD
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• CCH experience advantageous, although training will be provided
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Organised, motivated and able to manage competing deadlines
