Hawthorne-Finch Talent Solutions (H-FTS) is partnering with a long‑standing independent accountancy practice in the Preston area to recruit a Senior Accountant. You will manage a varied workload across accounts preparation, bookkeeping review, VAT and year‑end support while building strong client relationships.

The role suits an AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part‑qualified professional with around 2 years UK practice experience, seeking progression in a supportive team with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA part qualification
• Minimum 2+ years UK accountancy practice experience
• Experience preparing year-end accounts and VAT returns
• Strong working knowledge of Xero
• Experience with CCH software would be advantageous
• Good bookkeeping knowledge and attention to detail
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• A proactive and team-oriented approach
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with sectors such as agriculture, professional services, hospitality or leisure would be beneficial

The Opportunity

As Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied workload across accounts preparation, bookkeeping review, VAT, and year-end support whilst building strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio.

You will work closely with experienced managers and senior staff in a supportive environment that encourages development, autonomy, and progression.
