Verallo, a growing accountancy and tax advisory firm in Henley-on-Thames, seeks an Accounts Senior to manage a varied client portfolio. You will deliver year-end accounts, corporation tax and VAT work while developing junior team members and strengthening client relationships.

The role offers hybrid working and the chance to take ownership of client work within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• At least part-qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Minimum of two years' experience working in an accountancy practice.
• Working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Completing daily bookkeeping and filing monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure work is completed.
• Supporting the development and training of junior team members.
• Delivering excellent client service.
• Providing ad-hoc support to Managers.

Henley-On-Thames | £36k-£45k | Permanent | Hybrid Working Available

Are you an experienced practice accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of client work, build relationships and support the development of junior team members?

Verallo is an established and growing accountancy and tax advisory firm, working with a varied client base including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals and multinational businesses.

They are looking for an Accounts Senior to join their team, working closely with clients to provide accounting and tax support while becoming a trusted part of their business.

The Role

You’ll manage a varied portfolio of accounting work, covering year-end accounts, corporation tax, bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop client relationships and support more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
• Completing daily bookkeeping and preparing and filing monthly and quarterly VAT returns
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure work is completed

About You

• At least part-qualified ACA or ACCA
• Minimum of two years' experience working in an accountancy practice
• Working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Good knowledge of accounting systems; experience with CCH, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or Alphatax would be beneficial
• Confident building and maintaining client relationships
• Organised, diligent and able to manage competing deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
• A proactive team player who can also work independently

The Offer

• £36k-£45k dependent on experience
• Flexible and hybrid working, including flexitime and working from home
• Early finish every Friday, with the office closing at 2.30pm
