Job summary

Okehampton-based accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Senior to lead year-end accounts preparation, tax (personal and corporate), VAT, and related services for a diverse client base. The role offers hands-on involvement and a clear path to career progression with the management team.

You may come with an AAT qualification or have built your career through experience in accountancy practice, with 2–3+ years in roles spanning year-end work, tax, bookkeeping and VAT.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in accountancy practice.
• 2+ years in accountancy practice with hands-on exposure.
• Experience across year end accounts preparation, tax, VAT and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a varied client base.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with management accounts.
• Provide hands-on support to the senior leadership team.

Based in Okehampton this accountancy practice acts for very wide ranging clients across varying industries acting for wider ranging industry sector OMBs, SMEs and corporate limited company clients, along with acting for smaller sole trader and partnerships. Description

You will join the team based in Okehampton as an Accounts Senior and will take on responsibility for the hands on provision of year end accounts preparation, tax, personal and corporate, management accounts, VAT, management accounts and other services as you develop within this firm and role. You will have opportunity to carve a long term career move, as a highly valued addition in this team of professionals as key support to the firms management and leadership team

Profile

You may be AAT qualified, or have developed your career entirely through experience only to date and you will have a background working the accountancy practice sector for an accounting firm of any size, having developed your career to around the Accounts Senior levels. You will have anything from at least two to three years experience to date, or considerably more experience of working within accountancy practice. You will bring a mix of, or experience across any of: year end accounts preparation, management accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT returns etc and be looking to find a new career move, where you can become a key, highly valued long term addition to a successful team and firm in hands on role servicing wide ranging industry clients.

Job Offer

£28000 - £36,000 dependent on background and experience, all to be explored.
