Job summary

Streets LLP is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to lead accounting activities for a diverse client base. You will prepare financial statements, liaise with clients, and supervise junior staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across engagements.

The role emphasizes timely delivery, adherence to accounting standards, and a collaborative, client-focused approach within a growing firm.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent required.
  • Experience in General Practice accounting environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries professionally.
  • Complete assignments within budget and on time.
  • Produce draft tax computations for clients.
  • Prepare year-end accounts for various entity types.
  • Review work of junior staff and provide guidance.
  • Support junior staff development.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our team. This is a key, senior role within the department, responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function while providing a high standard of professionalism and quality of service to a varied client base. You will work closely with clients and colleagues alike and supporting the development of junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete all assignments within the allocated budget and on time.
  • Produce draft tax computations for clients.
  • Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
  • Review work undertaken by junior members of staff.
  • Provide assistance and support in the development of junior staff.
  • Prepare schedules for tax returns.
  • Complete VAT returns.
Key Skills and competencies
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative when required.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical skills. Qualifications & Experience
  • AAT Qualified, with optional progression to ACA or ACCA.
  • Previous experience gained within General Practice.
  • Ability to travel to client premises and between offices.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards would be an advantage.
