Job summary

WestonBrook Associates in Huntingdon is seeking an Accounts Senior (or Semi Senior) to join a regional independent practice during a period of growth. You will work closely with managers and partners, handling a diverse portfolio and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK accountancy practice with statutory accounts preparation and tax duties.
• Proficient with cloud accounting platforms and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support a varied portfolio of sole traders, Ltd. companies and larger corporates
• Build strong client relationships and maintain regular contact
• Manage bookkeeping using cloud-based systems
• Prepare and review VAT returns
• Prepare statutory accounts and working papers
• Calculate corporation tax liabilities and CT600 submissions
• Assist with personal tax returns (SA100) and mentor junior staff

Accounts Senior (or Semi Senior)

Nr Huntingdon - Regional independent practice

£28,000 - £38,000 DOE

Working closely with managers and partners, you will be responsible for supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, helping to deliver a first-class service. You'll be joining a collaborative team that values its staff, encourages professional development, and works hard to develop long standing relationships with its client base. With a strong reputation for delivering a high-quality, personalised service, this role offers excellent client exposure and the chance to make a real impact across the full set of accounting and tax responsibilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting a varied portfolio of sole traders, Ltd. companies and larger corporate businesses across multiple industries
• Building strong relationships with clients and maintaining regular contact
• Managing bookkeeping activities using cloud-based accounting systems
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Preparing statutory accounts and associated working papers
• Calculating corporation tax liabilities and preparing related submissions (CT600)
• Completion / review of personal tax returns (SA100)
• Assisting with the development and mentoring of junior team members

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
• A solid background working across both statutory accounts preparation and tax duties
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software packages
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified, studying towards qualification, or qualified through practical experience
