Job summary

DPC Chartered Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking an Accounts Semi Senior to own delivery of technical work in Uttoxeter. You’ll act as a key contact for clients, ensuring high quality outputs across accounts and tax.

You’ll review and coach junior colleagues, contribute to advisory projects, and build trusted relationships with clients while delivering sound accounting and tax advice.

Qualifications

• Studying AAT/ ACCA/ ACA
• Demonstrable experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice
• A professional, organised approach to work
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management

Responsibilities

• Prepare year end statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Prepare management accounts for a varied range of clients
• Prepare and/or review VAT returns
• Develop strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
• Manage a client portfolio with accurate records
• Oversee preparation and review of client accounts and contribute to advisory work
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues with quality knowledge sharing
• Manage workload and deadlines to deliver exceptional service

We’re looking for an Accounts Semi Senior to take ownership of technical delivery and supporting clients with confidence. You’ll act as a key point of contact for clients, while ensuring high quality, technically sound work is delivered across accounts and tax. You’ll review and coach the work of junior colleagues, contribute to advisory projects and play an important part of building trusted relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• The preparation of year end statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Preparation of management accounts for a varied range of clients
• Preparation and/or review of VAT returns
• Develop strong and lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs and becoming a trusted advisor
• Manage a client portfolio, ensuring accurate and up to date records
• Oversee the preparation and review of client accounts, support client decision-making and contribute to advisory work as needed
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring quality and fostering growth through sound knowledge sharing and hands‑on support
• Manage your workload and deadlines effectively while ensuring deliver of an exceptional service
