Job summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established accountancy practice in Haywards Heath with a Semi Senior Accountant role. You will support a varied portfolio across accounts, tax, VAT, management accounts and audit, developing your technical knowledge in a supportive environment.

Working in an experienced team, you will deliver client accounting requirements, prepare year‑end and management accounts, liaise with clients and mentor junior staff while pursuing your AAT/ACA/ACCA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing financial and management accounts for a portfolio of clients
• Assisting with corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns
• Supporting with tax computations
• Assisting with audit assignments and fieldwork where required
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
• Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
• Working closely with senior members of the team on client assignments
• Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and tax legislation

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice with the recruitment of a Semi Senior Accountant to join their Haywards Heath team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, with broad exposure across accounts, tax, VAT, management accounts and audit.

The Role

Working as part of an established accounts team, you will support a varied portfolio of clients and take increasing responsibility for the delivery of their accounting requirements.

• Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing financial and management accounts for a portfolio of clients
• Assisting with corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns
• Supporting with tax computations
• Assisting with audit assignments and fieldwork where required
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
• Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
• Working closely with senior members of the team on client assignments

Requirements

We are looking for someone with previous experience within an accountancy practice who is either part-qualified or actively working towards AAT, ACA or ACCA, or has equivalent experience.
