Job summary

Clark Wood, a well-established independent Chartered Accountants firm in Alton, is recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior / Senior to join their growing practice. You will manage a varied client portfolio, handling accounts preparation, bookkeeping and payroll, while building strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or working towards AAT, with prior practice experience and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT; ACA/ACCA trainees and QBE candidates also considered DOE.
• Experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong accounts preparation and bookkeeping skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts and tax returns for a varied portfolio of business and personal clients.
• Complete bookkeeping and payroll work.
• Liaise with clients and respond to day-to-day queries.
• Support the wider team with general practice assignments.

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a well-established and highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking to recruit an Accounts Semi Senior / Senior to join their growing team in Alton.

The Role

You will work with a varied portfolio of business and personal clients, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing accounts and tax returns
• Completing bookkeeping and payroll work
• Liaising with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
• Supporting the wider team with general practice assignments
• Identifying opportunities to support and develop client relationships

About You

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT (ACA / ACCA trainees and QBE candidates also considered DOE)
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong accounts preparation and bookkeeping skills
• Good communication and client relationship skills
• Organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proactive and able to manage your own workload
• Positive team player with a willingness to learn and develop
• Keen to build a long-term career within accountancy practice
