Job summary

Vivienne Westwood is seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant on a 12-month fixed term contract based at our London Head Office. You will join the Finance Team and report to the Finance Controller, helping to manage invoices, payments and credit notes while developing accounting and reporting skills.

The role requires 1–2 years in accounts, excellent Excel/Word skills, and the ability to work under pressure. SAP experience is desirable; strong communication and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant role or similar.
  • Excellent Word and Excel skills at an advanced level.
  • Experience with SAP desirable.
  • Strong communication and eye for numbers.
  • Extremely organised and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Raise core and non-core invoices, proformas and credit notes.
  • Ensure financial information is set up correctly on the ERP system.
  • Ensure UK sales operations are completed within deadlines.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Send seasonal deposit requests to wholesale customers.
  • Post payments received.
  • Letter of credit management.
  • Liaise with internal departments to gather information for financial documents.
  • Liaise with Customer Care regarding wholesale queries.
  • Liaise with Logistics regarding exportation.
  • Process commissions, consultancy fees and royalty invoices.
  • Review customer payment terms for new season selling campaigns.
  • Issue monthly statements and chase deposits / aged invoices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join one of the most iconic English fashion brands on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an opportunity for someone to develop their accounting and reporting skills while gaining valuable work experience within a professional environment.

The successful candidate will be based in our Head Office in London with the Finance Team and will report directly to the Finance Controller

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable Management
  • Raise core and non-core invoices, proformas and credit notes.
  • Ensure financial information is set up correctly on the integrated ERP system.
  • Ensure UK sales operations are completed within deadlines.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Send seasonal deposit requests to wholesale customers.
  • Post payments received.
  • Letter of credit management.
  • Liaise with other internal departments (Customer Care, Showroom, Marketing, Licensing, Couture, etc.) to gather the necessary information required to raise financial documents.
  • Liaise with Customer Care regarding queries from wholesale customers and department stores.
  • Liaise with the Logistics team and external logistics companies regarding exportation.
  • Process commissions, consultancy fees and royalty invoices.
  • Review customer payment terms for new season selling campaigns.
Credit Control Management
  • Issue monthly statements to customers.
  • Liaise with Customer Care regarding customer remittances.
  • Ensure the timely collection of balances to minimise the risk of bad debts and proactively manage slow and late payers by chasing deposits, proformas and aged invoices.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.

PROFILE & KEY SKILLS
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant role or similar
  • Excellent computer skills, able to work with Word and Excel at an advanced level
  • Experience with SAP desirable
  • Great communication skills and have an eye for numbers
  • Extremely organised and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently where required with initiative
  • An interest working in the fashion and retail sector.
