Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Norwich is seeking an Accounts Receivable specialist to manage arrears collection and reporting for a portfolio of tenants. You will produce accurate arrears statistics, chase outstanding sums and support treasury in cash allocations.

The role requires GCSEs in Maths/English, good Excel skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. On-site in Norfolk with opportunities to collaborate across the Property & Asset Management team.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience of basic accounting.
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Good Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Collect outstanding charges from tenants.
  • Provide arrears reports and statistics.
  • Chase tenants to recover outstanding sums by phone, email or letter.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external clients.
  • Reconcile tenant accounts and resolve queries.
  • Liaise with treasury team over allocation of funds and unallocated cash.

About the Opportunity

Join JLL Norwich's dynamic Property & Asset Management team with the Accounts Receivable team based at our prime city centre location. Responsibilities
  • To collect any outstanding charges from tenants
  • Provision of accurate arrears reports
  • Provide arrears statistics
  • Ensure a high level of collection rates
  • Chase tenants by telephone, fax, email or letter to recover outstanding sums
  • Achievement of client collection statistics targets
  • Have regular meetings with portfolio managers providing comments on arrears
  • Update tenant contacts on system
  • Liaise with treasury team over allocation of funds
  • Assist treasury team to ensure unallocated cash kept to a minimum
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for both internal and external clients as required
  • Ensure that any management agreement targets are met
  • Instruct Enforcement Agents
  • Instruct solicitors
  • Reconciliation of tenant accounts and resolving tenant queries
  • Work within the best practice guidelines to ensure a common and consistent approach is used across the company
  • Any other duties necessary to assist with the running of the various portfolios within the team
Desired skills and experience for this job
  • Knowledge/experience of basic accounting
  • Knowledge of Service Charges, which are applied to properties, is an advantage
  • Minimum GCSE Level education including Maths and English
  • Good Excel skills, to pivot table, VLookup level advantageous
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to set own priorities
  • Organised and able to work to detail and to deadlines
  • Able to apply common sense
