Job summary

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is assisting a well-established organisation in Exeter to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant into their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will handle sales and purchase invoices, manage accounts payable/receivable and support payroll processing within a multi-entity finance environment. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential, with effective communication across the team.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 2 qualified or equivalent.
• Experience using Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll.
• Experience working in a multi-entity finance environment.
• Excellent Excel skills with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organised, reliable and able to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase invoices accurately.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and credit control.
• Complete regular bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records across multiple entities.
• Support monthly payroll processing and employee payments.
• Process expenses, mileage claims and related documentation.
• Assist with VAT, month-end and year-end reporting.
• Provide general finance and administrative support as required.
