Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead and develop a capable AP team within a financially strong, people-focused business. You will drive accuracy, consistency and service excellence while enabling staff to perform at their best.

You will oversee high-volume invoice processing, month-end activities and CIS compliance, building strong supplier relationships and promoting continuous improvement across the function. A hybrid working environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising an Accounts Payable team.
• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger controls and related processes.
• Passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement.
• Ability to bring consistency, structure and accountability to team operations.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative stakeholder management.
• Experience of ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of CIS advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop an established Accounts Payable team.
• Create a positive, engaged and motivating team culture.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance across Purchase Ledger and Subcontract Ledger activities.
• Manage workloads, priorities and performance to deliver excellent service.
• Support timely processing of high-volume invoices and month-end activities.
• Build relationships with suppliers and colleagues to meet deadlines.
• Oversee CIS compliance and monthly HMRC submissions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.
• Coach team members to support development and success.
