Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the AP team, ensure accurate processing of supplier invoices and timely month-end close, and maintain strong supplier relationships.

In this role you will champion financial controls, oversee CIS compliance, and develop your team through coaching and process improvements, with a hybrid working environment and a focus on integrity and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience within Accounts Payable or a similar finance environment.
• Solid understanding of financial controls and ledger management.
• Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is an advantage.
• Confident using ERP systems, financial ledgers, and MS Excel.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead with fairness and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring workloads, processes, and performance are well‑organised and efficient.
• Champion accuracy, compliance, and financial risk control across the Purchase Ledger and Subcontract Ledger.
• Support the business by ensuring timely processing of high‑volume invoices and month‑end close.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service and communication.
• Oversee CIS compliance and monthly submissions to HMRC.
• Coach, develop, and empower your team - helping them achieve their best and supporting their long‑term progression.
• Drive improvements, implement smarter processes, and enhance team capability through training and delegation.
