Job summary

Orka Financial Ltd is partnering with a Reading-based business to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant for the finance team. The role covers day-to-day AP tasks, employee expenses, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key duties include payment runs, supplier invoices, expense claims, and supporting month-end activities. Experience in finance and Sage or similar software is preferred. Salary up to £30,000.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts payable or similar accounting role.
• A good understanding of accounts payable.
• Experience using accounting software; Sage or a comparable finance system would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts payable function, including preparing and processing payment runs.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and help ensure creditors are paid on time.
• Maintain financial spreadsheets, accounting records and supporting information.
• Review, process and reconcile employee expense claims in line with company policy.
• Support month-end activity, including reconciliations and reporting tasks.
• Process invoices, liaising closely with the sales team
• Provide finance and administrative support to the wider team when required.
• Respond to ad hoc requests and take on additional duties that support business operations.
