Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Gloucester is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the busy finance team. This full-time, permanent role handles high volumes of supplier invoices and queries, maintaining accurate ledgers and timely processing.

You will liaise with internal colleagues, manage central inboxes, open and process post, and support ad hoc finance tasks. AAT desirable; strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or purchase ledger handling invoices and queries.
• Strong IT skills with Excel and database familiarity.
• Excellent organisation and time management.
• Confident communication and relationship-building.
• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.

Responsibilities

• Answer supplier and internal queries by phone or email.
• Input high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and quickly.
• Manage central finance inboxes and post processing.
• Query and resolve invoice or supplier issues.
• Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger.
• Support ad hoc finance tasks and cross-department collaboration.
