Job summary

Matalan is seeking an Accounts Payable professional to support the efficient operation of the AP function. You will ensure invoices are processed, verified against goods received, and scheduled for payment in line with terms. You will maintain supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support payment processes across ledgers.

You will interact with suppliers, internal teams, and use Excel for data analysis, contributing to accuracy in financial records and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable or similar administrative role.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to process high volumes of invoices.
• Good understanding of invoice processing, supplier account management and payment scheduling.
• Experience in resolving discrepancies such as pricing differences or missing deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Check invoices against goods received and agreed prices.
• Enter and maintain accurate invoice data on Oracle systems.
• Schedule supplier payments in line with agreed payment terms.
• Process payment runs for Purchase and General Ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and account discrepancies.
• Liaise with UK and overseas suppliers by phone and email.
