Job summary

H-Power, a UK clean-energy technology business, is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to own the day-to-day function in our Surrey finance team. You’ll manage supplier payments, reconciliations and VAT compliance, while collaborating with the supply chain to keep Sage 200 records accurate.

You’ll bring at least two years in accounts payable or finance, with AAT Level 3 and strong Excel skills. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to influence finance processes and systems.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in accounts payable or finance position.
• AAT Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and UK VAT.
• Proficient with Excel; Sage 200 experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing accounts payable, supplier payments and bank reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments and VAT compliance.
• Working with the supply chain team and maintaining accurate records within Sage 200.

Looking for an accounts payable role where you can take real ownership of your work, rather than simply process invoices?

H-Power is a UK clean-energy technology business developing innovative hydrogen and ammonia-based power solutions, helping industries move away from traditional diesel-powered systems.

As the business continues to develop its technology and commercial operations, there's an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join its finance team in Dunsfold, Surrey.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners, you'll take ownership of the day‑to‑day accounts payable function, while getting involved in wider financial processes and improvements.

What experience will you need?

• AAT Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• A good understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and UK VAT.
• Confidence using Excel and accounting or ERP systems. Sage 200 experience would be particularly useful.

Above all, you’ll be organised, accurate and comfortable taking responsibility for your own work.
