Job summary

H-Power, a UK clean-energy technology business, is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to take ownership of the day-to-day AP function and contribute to wider financial processes. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and partners to ensure accurate payments and reconciliations in Sage 200.

The role expands beyond invoice processing, offering autonomy to drive process improvements, support month-end activities, and collaborate with the finance team to enhance overall financial operations.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in accounts payable or finance roles.
• AAT Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and UK VAT.
• Confident using Excel and accounting or ERP systems; Sage 200 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, supplier payments and bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end activities including accruals, prepayments and VAT compliance.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team and maintain records in Sage 200.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing finance processes and systems.

Looking for an accounts payable role where you can take real ownership of your work, rather than simply process invoices?

H-Power is a UK clean-energy technology business developing innovative hydrogen and ammonia-based power solutions, helping industries move away from traditional diesel-powered systems.

As the business continues to develop its technology and commercial operations, there's an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join its finance team in Dunsfold, Surrey.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable function, while getting involved in wider financial processes and improvements.

What experience will you need?

• AAT Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience.

• Confidence using Excel and accounting or ERP systems. Sage 200 experience would be particularly useful.

Above all, you'll be organised, accurate and comfortable taking responsibility for your own work.
