Job summary

Great Places Housing Group in Manchester is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer for a 9-month FTC (secondment for internal applicants). You will process invoices, match PO invoices, and manage payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate postings.

The role requires 2+ years in Accounts Payable, proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPS), and the ability to multitask under pressure while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable.
• Finance qualification preferred but not essential (e.g., finance degree, AAT/ACCA part qualified).
• Experience with Open Accounts/eBis/V1/QL is desirable but not required; general system proficiency needed.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUPS.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices for assigned suppliers daily.

• Match PO invoices for payment and post payments.
• Process payment runs and ad-hoc payments as assigned.
• Update supplier details and verify changes.

Accounts Payable Officer - 9 Month FTC (secondment for internal applicants)

What you’ll be doing

• Processing invoices for assigned suppliers on daily basis,
• Assigning processed non-PO invoices for approval,
• Matching PO invoices for payment,
• Processing payment runs, sundry payments, rent refunds and ad-hoc same day payments as assigned in rota,
• Posting payments and ensuring that payments are matched with invoices in the system,
• Processing supplier details changes and ensuring that checks are undertaken to verify changes,
• Building positive relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues.

What you’ll need

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable function,
• Finance qualification preferred but not essential, such as finance degree, AAT qualified/ACCA part qualified or equivalent,
• Experience in Open Accounts, eBis, V1 and QL is desired but not essential, however general, system proficiency is required,
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS,
• Ability to multitask and prioritise the workload,
• Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure,
• Ability to deliver a high standard of customer service in accordance with our SLA’s,
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative within team KPI’s,
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
