Michael Page is recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function in a fast-paced property sector based in Peterborough. You will own day-to-day processing, manage a small AP team, and ensure timely supplier payments while driving improvements.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in AP leadership, strong controls around purchasing and PO processes, experience with ERP systems, and a passion for automation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong track record of implementing process improvements and driving efficiencies.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to manage performance and team dynamics.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience improving controls around purchasing, purchase orders and payment processes.
• High attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
• Strong systems knowledge with ERP platforms.
• Ideally ~10 years' experience in Accounts Payable or related finance function.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Lead, develop and motivate the AP team, creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Manage supplier relationships, resolving payment issues and escalations.
• Address backlogs and implement solutions to improve service levels and supplier satisfaction.
• Review and strengthen controls around PR/PO processes, payment approvals and governance.
• Identify and deliver opportunities for automation and process streamlining.
• Produce management information and reports on AP performance and KPIs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to enhance financial operations.
