The successful candidate will have a proven track record in AP leadership, improving controls around PO/PR processes, and delivering KPI-driven performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong track record of implementing process improvements, driving efficiencies and introducing automation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage performance and handle challenging team dynamics.
• Approachable but firm management style, with excellent relationship-building skills.
• Experience improving controls around purchasing, purchase order and payment processes.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong systems knowledge and confidence working with financial software and ERP platforms.
• Ideally around 10 years' experience within Accounts Payable or a related finance function.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to process accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Lead, develop and motivate the AP team, creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Manage supplier relationships, proactively resolving payment issues, disputes and escalations.
• Address existing backlogs and implement solutions to improve service levels and supplier satisfaction.
• Review and strengthen controls around PR/PO processes, payment approvals and financial governance.
• Identify and deliver opportunities for automation, streamlining manual processes and increasing efficiency.
• Produce management information and reports on AP performance, KPIs and key process improvements.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to enhance financial operations and support business objectives.
