Job summary

Shearer Associates is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional for a busy manufacturing environment. This hands-on role offers real ownership of the purchase ledger, with autonomy but no management title, and close collaboration with the finance function.

You will process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, run payments, maintain supplier data, and support month-end. The ideal candidate has high-volume purchase ledger experience and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous purchase ledger experience, ideally in a high-volume or manufacturing setting.
• Confident running the full invoice-to-payment cycle with minimal supervision.
• Reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and on time: coding, approval and posting
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve pricing, PO and goods-received discrepancies
• Prepare payment runs with the right checks and authorisations in place
• Keep supplier master data accurate and verify any bank detail changes
• Be the go-to contact for supplier and internal queries
• Monitor aged creditors and outstanding liabilities, and clear issues before they grow
• Support month-end, including accruals, reconciliations and audit requests
• Improve processes and controls across purchase-to-pay
