Job summary

Whittard of Chelsea in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant on a 3 Month FTC to join the Finance team at Milton Park offices. You will process invoices, manage the AP inbox, and support supplier reconciliations while delivering accurate, timely financial transactions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data processing skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of accounting procedures; stock matching is a plus.
• A flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to support the team.
• Ability to learn quickly and retain information.
• AAT Level 3/4 is advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process all invoices, expenses and payments, ensuring timely coding, filing and query resolution.
• Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox and daily post.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Support stock invoice processing and match invoices to receipts, resolving any issues.
• Assist with cash management, payment run preparation and maintaining audit-ready filing systems.
• Contribute to a smooth-running finance function by supporting continuous improvement and collaborating with colleagues across the team.
