Job summary

Muir Group Housing Association is seeking a skilled manager to lead the Management Accounts team, focusing on Accounts Payable and procurement processes in Chester. You will support the Finance Manager – Management Accounts, administering the purchasing cycle and ensuring robust controls within the purchase ledger, including month-end reconciliations.

You will lead on procurement compliance and maintain the contracts register, challenging suppliers as required and working with the wider business

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable and Procurement.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop people.
• Knowledge of procurement policy and compliance.
• Experience with month end reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete purchasing cycle and purchase ledger controls, including month end reconciliations.
• Lead procurement activities and ensure compliance with procurement policy across the business.
• Maintain the contracts register and ensure suppliers are reviewed and challenged where required.
• Engage with the wider business to reflect roles in line with Financial Regulations and complete checks on purchases.

Our Management Accounts Team is looking for a team member!

Are you an experienced manager with the ability to lead, motivate and develop people with knowledge of Accounts Payable and Procurement? Then this could be the role for you!

Supporting the Finance Manager – Management Accounts, you will be responsible for managing the complete purchasing cycle, ensuring the effective operation, administration and controls within the purchase ledger including those related month end reconciliations.

With the new procurement act now in force you will lead on ensuring the wider business complies with the procurement policy and lead on procurement within the finance team.

You will be responsible for the contracts register ensuring all suppliers are reviewed and challenged where required. You will be confident to get out to the wider business to ensure all roles are reflected in line with Financial Regulations and that relevant checks are completed across all purchases.

Closing date for applications is 9am on 24th March.

Interviews will take place over Teams initially and then we will meet you at our office in Lightfoot Street in Chester.
