Job summary

Jotun Paints (Europe) Ltd is seeking an accounts administrator to manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensure timely journal entries, and support VAT compliance. The role offers flexibility with part-time or full-time hours and a generous leave/health package within a UK-based operation.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel and Outlook, accurate, and capable of learning new systems while maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Background in Accounts is desirable but not essential.
• Competent in IT such as Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Computer literate to learn new systems and software.
• Good communication.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded and effective internal control are in place.
• Carry out suppliers and bank reconciliations by analysing suppliers and bank statements in order to reconcile differences between suppliers and bank statements and our books of accounts.
• Handle all supplier payments for local and overseas vendors by preparing, checking, verifying, posting, and signing all payment vouchers to ensure compliance to payment agreed terms.
• Maintain customer receivables set and meet collection targets on a regular basis by monitoring or controlling payment behaviour by controlling credit limits and terms to ensure a healthy customer receivables portfolio.
• Assist and comply with all VAT regulations as per local requirements if required
• Liaise and coordinate with both internal and external parties like banks and auditors to meet audit requirements and adhere to local rules and regulations
