Job summary

Clark Wood is recruiting an Accounts Manager in Harrogate. You will manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and VAT, while delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services.

Expect to support junior staff, participate in forecasting, and contribute to client development in a collaborative, growth-focused firm renowned for professional development and progression.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification is essential; finalists considered.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients in an accountancy practice.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounts and tax with review experience.
• Proficiency with cloud accounting software (Xero/Sage/QuickBooks).

Responsibilities

• Manage own portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and tax returns.
• Review management accounts and VAT returns.
• Provide accounting and business advisory to clients.
• Coach and develop junior team members; supervise assignments.
