Ambition Europe Limited, a well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Loughton, Essex, seeks an experienced Accounts Manager to lead a varied client portfolio and develop a professional team. The role is onsite full-time initially, with a probation period offering the possibility to work from home one day per week.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with strong UK GAAP knowledge, VAT awareness, and proven client portfolio management within a mid-tier

Qualifications

• Experience managing a client portfolio within a mid-tier practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts.
• Excellent communication and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of client assignments from planning to completion.

Our client is a well-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Loughton, Essex. With over 75 years of history and a team of ten partners, they have built a strong reputation for delivering trusted, high-quality accountancy services to a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses and UK subsidiaries of international groups.

They are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join , due to growth, taking ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading and developing a team of professionals.

This position will be onsite full time initially, with the possibility to work from home one day a week following probation.

What you'll be doing

• Managing the full lifecycle of client assignments, from planning and budgeting through to completion.
• Liaising with clients to understand their needs and tailoring each assignment accordingly.
• Delegating and reviewing team work to ensure consistently high standards and timely delivery.
• Leading team performance and development, including appraisals and regular feedback.

What we're looking for

• ACA or ACCA qualified with strong technical competence.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio within a mid-tier practice.
• Solid knowledge of statutory accounts, management accounts, and UK GAAP.
• Experience managing and developing a team.
• Strong VAT knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• IT literate; experience with Xero, CaseWare, Sage, or CCH is an advantage.
