Job summary

Streets, a modern accountancy practice with 33+ offices across the UK, seeks an accounts manager to lead a client portfolio with professionalism and service excellence in Halifax, England.

You will work closely with partners, own your workflow, mentor junior staff, and help develop the team while delivering high standards in accounting and compliance for varied clients.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified with proven accounting experience.
• Strong client relationship skills and professional integrity.
• Comfortable leading junior staff and mentoring.

• Clear and confident communicator with financial reporting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage accountancy service delivery for a portfolio of clients.
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships, including attending client meetings.
• Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies.
• Assist/oversee audit work and supervise junior staff on client sites.
• Organise workflow, allocate assignments and manage resources.
• Review work performed by junior staff and monitor performance.
• Ensure work is delivered within budget and timeframes.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues.

Role Overview

We are looking for an accounts manager to look after a portfolio of clients providing a high standard of professionalism along with quality of service. This is a key, senior role within the department. You will work closely with the partners and clients, taking ownership of your work while supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage accountancy service delivery for a portfolio of clients
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships, including attending client meetings
• Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies in accordance with the relevant accounting standards
• Working within the audit department in the auditing of accounts and financial statements including working at client sites and assisting junior members of staff.
• Organise the flow of work within the team, allocating assignments as necessary taking into consideration resourcing requirements
• Review work undertaken by junior staff
• Monitor and report on team performance
• Ensure that work is delivered with budget and time requirements
• Provide assistance in the development of junior staff
• Preparation of corporation tax returns
• Assistance/oversight of bookkeeping, VAT returns and MTD returns where required
• Advice to clients on all aspects above in conjunction with the partners
