Overview

Join Gallagher Re, a global leader in reinsurance, as an Accounts Controller in Ipswich! The successful candidate will be joining our highly regarded Asia Pacific team where you will ensure that balances are collected and paid in accordance with the contractual requirements looking after your own portfolio of clients. You will daily have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in London and Mumbai, as well as with clients and carriers.

How you'll make an impact

  • Ensure the secure, efficient, and auditable handling of client’s monies
  • Own the fiscal relationship for designated clients and act as the main point of contact for all matters relating to payments
  • Actively service accounts to a high standard and ensure timely collection and payment of monies due to/from clients, reinsurers and third parties; reconciliation, chasing and minimisation of funding to ensure financial metrics are achieved.
  • Use MI to identify debtor-related problems and advance, negotiate, and influence where necessary to resolve
  • Review and correlate cash daily
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned clients, reinsurers, and third parties
  • Complete Account Controller core requirements reviews where appropriate
  • Adhere to standardised Group policies and procedures, Accounting and Settlement fundamentals, including sanctions touch points and other regulatory requirements

About You

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • CII qualifications or studying towards would be beneficial
  • Reinsurance or Credit Control experience is highly desirable
  • Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Attention to detail, ability to coordinate and prioritise
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and general willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with both clients and brokers
  • Good time management skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK
