Job summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for an Accounts & Bookkeeping Advisor to join its Stalbridge office. This role suits an experienced accountancy practice professional who enjoys working with clients across owner-managed businesses, including agricultural clients.

You will prepare accounts, complete bookkeeping and VAT returns, and support cloud accounting while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and bookkeeping
• Confident communicating with clients
• Able to manage workload and meet deadlines
• Experience with agricultural/farming clients is helpful but not required
• AAT qualification or studying towards a professional qualification

This is a varied opportunity for an experienced accountancy practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients and providing a broad range of accounts and bookkeeping services. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of owner managed businesses, with exposure to agricultural and farming clients available.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Completing bookkeeping and management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software
• Maintaining accurate accounting records
• Responding to client queries and building strong working relationships
• Liaising with colleagues across the wider firm
• Assisting with other general practice work where required

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Possess a good working knowledge of accounts preparation and bookkeeping
• Be confident communicating directly with clients
• Be comfortable managing their own workload and meeting deadlines
• Have experience or knowledge of agricultural and farming clients, although this is not essential
• Be qualified by experience, AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification
