Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is working with a well-established accountancy practice in Newport to recruit an Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior. You will work across accounts preparation and audits for a varied client base, developing your technical knowledge and taking the next step in your career.

You’ll gain exposure to client relationships, support with tax and statutory accounts, and have opportunities for progression as your experience grows within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years experience within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ACCA or actively studying towards a professional qualification.
• Previous experience across accounts and some audit exposure.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and statutory accounts.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Confident communicating with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Assisting with statutory accounts and year-end accounts preparation.
• Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Carrying out audit testing and preparing working papers.
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting with general tax compliance.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Supporting junior members of the team where required.
