Job summary

Clark Wood Limited in Devizes is seeking an Accounts & Audit Semi Senior / Senior to join their independent firm of Chartered Accountants. You will work on a varied portfolio, handling audits from planning to completion, and support with accounts and tax work.

Responsibilities

• Complete audits from planning to completion for a varied portfolio of clients.

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Semi Senior / Senior to join their friendly and supportive team in Devizes.

The Role

Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, you will take responsibility for a range of audit assignments while also supporting with accounts and tax work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing audits from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of clients, including limited companies, charities, academies and clubs
• Preparing audit files for Manager review
• Providing support and guidance to junior members of the team during audit assignments
• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients
• Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Preparing VAT returns
• Reviewing straightforward accounts and tax returns where required
• Supporting the development and training of AAT trainees

About You

• Ideally minimum 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice
• Previous audit experience, ideally with experience of taking audits through from planning to completion
• Good knowledge of accounts preparation and audit processes
• Strong communication and client relationship-building skills
• Organised with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
• Accurate, proactive and solution-focused
• Confident working both independently and as part of a team
