Job summary

TC Group, a fast-growing Top 20 UK accountancy firm, is recruiting an Accounts Assistant Trainee for our Kent team. You will support bookkeeping and finance services for a large construction client, ensuring accurate records, timely invoices and strong client liaison.

You will work with colleagues to meet monthly deadlines, maintain ledgers and handle queries, building your accounting skills within a supportive, growing business.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (4+) including English and Maths
• Fast learner with ability to take ownership of tasks
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Motivated team player with collaborative mindset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (desirable)
• Knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of bookkeeping activities for a large commercial construction client
• Prepare, process and review invoices for payment runs
• Maintain debtor and creditor ledgers with month-end deadlines
• Process and reconcile credit card, expenses and fuel card transactions
• Manage daily client finance inboxes and respond to queries
• Act as main contact for clients on bookkeeping queries via phone and email
• Collaborate with colleagues to update on outstanding queries and progress
• Organise and prioritise workloads to meet monthly deadlines
• Build strong relationships with clients and deliver high service levels
