Job summary

TC Group, a growing Top 20 UK accountancy firm, is seeking an Accounts Assistant Trainee for its Kent team. This role supports bookkeeping and finance services for a large commercial client, with development supported in a collaborative, people-focused culture.

You’ll handle invoices, ledgers, and daily client finance inboxes, working to deadlines and building client relationships. The firm offers training, development opportunities, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at 9-4 (A-C) including English & Maths or Level 2 in related subject.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Team player who can work collaboratively.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
• Knowledge of CIS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of bookkeeping activities for a large commercial construction client.
• Prepare, process and review invoices for payment runs.
• Maintain debtor and creditor ledgers and ensure month-end deadlines.
• Process and reconcile credit card, expenses and fuel card transactions.
• Manage client finance inboxes and respond to queries promptly.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders via phone and email.
• Collaborate with colleagues to progress queries and issues.
• Prioritise workloads to meet monthly deadlines.
• Build strong relationships with clients and deliver high service levels.
• Ensure financial records comply with procedures.
