Job summary

Ian Farmer Associates (1998) Ltd, a member of the RSK Group, is recruiting an Assistant Accountant/Ledger Clerk to join our Washington, UK team. The role covers month-end processes, ledger maintenance, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations.

We value clear communication, ability to work in a small team or alone, and good IT skills. AAT level 2 is desirable, and relocation or reasonable travel to the office is expected.

The Vacancy

Ian Farmer Associates (1998) Ltd, a member of RSK Group Ltd, is a geotechnical ground investigation company. Due to recent expansion and increasing workload an exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant/Ledger Clerk to join our team based in Washington, UK.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Involvement in month end processes
  • Processing of purchase invoices and reconciliation of statements
  • Maintenance of purchase and sales ledgers
  • Processing of expenses and credit card claims
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Set up of supplier accounts
  • Making supplier and expense payments
  • Assist with credit control and client queries
  • Processing of information via accounts package
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Checking of contract / legal documents
  • Processing of any other accounts documents
  • Any other Ad Hoc duties required by the department
Required experience:
  • Excellent communication skills and confident attitude
  • The ability to work both within a team and individually
  • Confident Microsoft user
  • Good time keeping
  • Be within a reasonable travelling distance of your office base, or be prepared to re-locate
  • Relevant experience in a finance function desirable although not essential.
  • AAT level 2 is desirable
Salary and benefits:

The company is approved for working in confined spaces and undertaking in situ testing that includes floor load tests and strain measurements.
