Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property in Croydon is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a modern UK accounting HQ. The role offers hybrid working after probation, extensive training, and strong progression pathways with financial study support (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).

You will manage client accounts with accuracy, contributing to the financial cycle and compliance while developing your accounting career within a leading brand.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a dedicated Accounts Assistant/Finance Assistant role.
• Solid knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Year-End Preparation: manage a defined portfolio of accounts and prepare statutory accounts for external audit.
• Journal Entries & Adjustments: process year-end transfers and ensure correct ledger balances.
• Balance Sheet Integrity: regularly reconcile expenditures in the accounting system.
• Surplus/Deficit Calculations: compute final year-end balances for funds and issue invoices/credit notes as needed.
• Audit Management: act as a primary contact with auditors and internal managers.
• Query Handling: resolve accounting queries from internal and external parties.
• Compliance Support: assist with financial notices and documentation.
