Job summary

Randstad Staffing in Croydon is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a hybrid role. You will support client accounts, assist with year-end tasks and help ensure audit readiness in a busy accounting function.

The ideal candidate is a finance/accounting graduate with double-entry bookkeeping knowledge, experience using Sage/Xero/SAP/Oracle, and strong Excel skills. This role offers clear progression and study support for AAT/ACCA/CIMA.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Accounts Assistant or similar role.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and end-to-end accounting cycle.
• Experience with month-end and year-end procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Willing to learn and progress in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end documentation for audit within deadlines.
• Process end-of-year journal entries and adjust balances.
• Reconcile balance sheet items regularly.
• Calculate final year-end surplus/deficit and issue invoices/credit notes.
• Coordinate with auditors and managers during audits.
• Handle accounting queries from internal and external parties.
• Support compliance and documentation of financial notices.
