Job summary

SF Partners are partnering exclusively with an established manufacturing business in Swadlincote to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. The role covers transactional finance and month-end support, taking ownership of Purchase and Sales Ledger duties.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 8:00am-1:30pm. Salary up to £32,000, with 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Solid transactional finance background with experience in Purchase and Sales Ledger.
• Experience in reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good communication skills and team support across finance.
• Experience in manufacturing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Purchase Ledger, code invoices, record and authorise.
• Process Sales invoices and credit control.
• Handle cash receipts and monitor cashflow.
• Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Assist with accounts preparation and VAT returns.
• Maintain fixed asset records (additions, disposals, depreciation).
• Support with audits and Intrastat reporting.
• Handle supplier queries and reminder letters.
• Support wider Finance team as required.
