Job summary

Reed Practice is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our client's friendly Business Team in Ipswich. This role offers ACA/ACCA study support and ongoing training within a supportive environment, providing broad exposure to owner-managed businesses and private clients.

You will prepare financial accounts and tax returns, manage bookkeeping tasks, and work with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH. AAT Level 4 and ACA/ACCA study underway are encouraged, with strong attention to detail and excellent

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 qualification.
• Current ACA or ACCA study underway.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and cloud-based accounting software.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive mindset with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Assisting with corporation tax computations and returns.
• Supporting the preparation of personal, partnership and business tax returns.
• Completing bookkeeping assignments and account reconciliations.
• Preparing VAT returns and assisting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements.
• Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Liaising with clients to gather information and answer queries.
• Maintaining accurate working papers and client records.
