Job summary

NXTGEN are working with a fantastic accountancy practice on the outskirts of Wymondham who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their supportive team. You’ll build strong client relationships, support day-to-day accounting needs and progress your career while continuing studies.

You’ll gain exposure to year-end accounts, management accounts, tax and VAT work, with a clear progression path and study support, all in a friendly, flexible hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Prepare year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of SME clients.
• Assist with tax returns, VAT returns and other accounting requirements.
• Prepare management accounts and build client relationships.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team, working with a varied portfolio of local SME clients and gaining exposure to a range of year‑end accounts, management accounts, tax and VAT work. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your clients, become their main point of contact and support them with their day‑to‑day accounting needs, all while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and experience alongside your studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of local SME clients.
• Assisting with tax returns, VAT returns and other accounting requirements.
• Preparing management accounts.
• Building relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact for any queries.
• Supporting clients with their day‑to‑day accounting needs.

• Working across a range of accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage and Xero.
