Accounts Assistant - Truro - Circa: £23,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged by one of our long standing clients, a large and highly successful professional services business with an impressive history of growth. The company now seeks to recruit a junior Accounts Assistant, a relatively junior role that would be well suited to a candidate seeking to develop their accounting skills. This is a full time, permanent opportunity to be based at the company’s offices in Truro.

Working as part of a sizeable and experienced finance team, the successful candidate will hone their skills by focussing on transactional responsibilities to include:

• Maintain company finance technology systems
• Allocation of accounts payable transactions and invoice
• Bank reconciliations
• Opening client accounts and setting up direct debit facilities
• Process credit card payments
• Assist the team in preparation of month/year end procedures
• Assist team in preparing accruals, prepayments and journals
• Assist accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control teams

For this role we seek a candidate with a minimum of 6 months of recently gained experience, ideally gained within a modern finance function. Candidate’s may be part or fully AAT, or consider themselves to have suitable vocational experience. Applicants should be highly numerate with great attention to details, and be quick to learn and develop new skills. The business is technology driven so sound IT skills also essential with previous experience using MS Excel highly beneficial.
